January Whole30 – Day Six

January 7, 2017

Well, today was freakin awesome. Coffee is awesome. Food is awesome. My heated blanket is really freakin awesome.

Day six is often a day for napping, but my energy levels have been increasing like crazy these last two days. But they haven’t been without challenges. Today, I had coffee with friends at my favorite place in Hermosa Beach. This place has great coffee and friendly service, but we really go for the people watching. And by people watching, I mean dog watching because apparently everyone here has a dog, except me. Even my friend has started dog-sitting on the reg. I have a cat who thinks he’s a dog though, does that count?
Anyways, my afternoon was filled great. But here’s the problem. This coffee shop is known for their selection of drool-worthy pastries. Pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, lemon bars, and blueberry scones the size of my head. I’ve never actually had any of their pastries, but I’ve dreamed about them on multiple occasions. No lie.

And for whatever reason, I was having some cravings today. Things only got worse when my friends brought a huge chocolate chunk brownie and even bigger Rice Krispies treat back to the table. Rebecca’s words were “oh my god, that’s exactly how a brownie should taste.” Actual torture. Lucky for me, I packed a Larabar! First time I’ve had any “emergency snacks” during this round and even though it was delicious, I’m not interested in relying on bars to get me through this round. I’m more so relying on Netflix. God bless Netflix.
